Ayrem is a startup which provides a trustworthy way for customers to purchase and sell different types of cryptocurrencies, gift cards, and data plans. The company has been in existence for more than a year in offline mode primarily using Whatsapp and word of mouth to gain their first 1k customers.
They desired a rebrand and wanted to move their customers online to a website that would automate transactions.
I was invited to work with them as a lead Product Designer. I worked alongside a backend developer and a front-end developer, and two members of the Ayrem team to build their online presence.
With these team members and the development team, we built the Ayrem website and web app from scratch to launch.
It depicts the services Ayrem offers to its customers in its simplest form.
For the early version of the app, Ayrem wanted to focus on buy cryptocurrencies, gift cards for cash, and selling data plans. We needed to understand how these core features work on the user’s side and also the technical aspect of things to build a wonderful experience.
For the crypto aspect, we used blockchain API to process how the crypto is sent to our business wallet address and also how the app calculates how much the user will receive based on the current rate of the crypto that was sent to the business wallet.
For the Gift Card aspect, customers had to provide us with the value for their card and from the start. After which, Ayrem then calculates the worth of their gift cards based on the current rate and shows them the equivalent amount they will receive. Following that, they can now upload their gift card for verification and payment.
For the data plan section, Ayrem asks them for the type of data they wish to buy, the number of gigabytes, and their phone number before they are prompted to a screen where they make payment. After successful payment, their data is sent to their phone number.
