Jotmill is an all-in-one web app tool that allows companies to create in-depth question-and-answer interviews of any type. With Jotmill one can create, edit, answer, comment, collaborate and export any interview seamlessly all in one place.
I worked on the visual and research aspect of the creation, answering, commenting, and collaborating part of the Jotmill app and also creating the design system and iconography structure alongside two product designers from the design team and five engineers from the development team.
With this team, we were able to create an MVP of the Jotmill app that can be used to make interview
Firstly, I needed to understand what the problem was from the Jotmill team. The interview setup and creation process have been a pain in the ass for a very long time, Every startup had to combine at least 3-To 4 different kinds of tools together to create answer comment edit, and export and publish these interviews which take a lot of time and effort, companies like an indie hacker, independent blogs and podcast owners and interview presenters have to wrangle tools from different sources to make this happen.
This is the core problem Jotmill is trying to solve and i needed to understand, why the problem, the current ways the problem is being solved, and how i can help thousands of independent bloggers, podcast owners and startups solve this problem. This led me to carry out stakeholders’ user interviews, Competitive analysis, user iterations, and feedback to ship out the first MVP version of Jotmill.
